In 2016 I discovered art journaling. I'd always been creative, and had stuck things down and painted over them but not in any organised way. I learned about the Get Messy group and joined up in September - it freed me up in so many ways. I discovered an artistic outlet, and weekly prompts that can be interpreted depending on your mood or where you at that time in your life.
In 2017 I really want to develop my art journaling skills, so that I can develop my own style and become more confident with what I am creating. To do this, I need to give myself the gift of time. Time to develop my skills, to be inspired and to actually be able to take some time to create.
I plan to this in a couple of different ways - firstly I want to remain a member of Get Messy, and so I will upgrade my membership to an annual one. Secondly, I plan to take some classes - I have already started a Totems class on the Get Messy site and I plan to explore this further throughout the year. Additionally I am going to enrol on the Wanderlust class, which is a whole year of classes and inspiration. I am massively looking forward to this jouney into art and I hope this blog will become a regular way for me to explore ideas, to share inspiration and art - and most of all, that it will be my way of being accountable to myself in my artistic pursuits.
